V8-powered Aston Martin becomes most popular supercar for driving experiences

The popular driving experience company TrackDays.co.uk has revealed their most popular choices for motorists looking for an exciting ride for their Christmas present.

According to a study of over 30,000 supercar bookings made by the company, most drivers noted that most drivers chose the Aston Martin V8 Vantage.

Dan Jones, operations manager at TrackDays.co.uk, noted that Aston Martin’s popularity with customers could be due to the brand’s successes on the track.

He explained: “The V8 Vantage is always in the mix for our most popular supercar crown, but it is often just beaten to the top of the podium by the Lamborghini Gallardo or the Audi A8.

“2023 has been a year in which the Aston Martin brand has made a lot of noise – it revealed the first car of Lawrence Stroll’s new era at the helm, the DB12, as well as unexpectedly ruffling a few feathers out on the F1 track.”

According to TrackDays.co.uk, the Aston Martin V8 Vantage’s 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged engine can accelerate from 0-62mph in 4.9 seconds and reach a top speed of 180mph.

Whilst the current model has only been in production since 2018, Aston Martin has used the V8 Vantage name since 1977.

The original model was considered by many to be the first supercar produced in the UK and was used in a number of James Bond films.

Dan also noted that, whilst the Lamborghini Gallardo was expected to be the most popular model with customers during 2023, the announcement that production of the Audi R8 would end encouraged more drivers to get behind the wheel.

He continued: “About halfway through the year, the Gallardo was looking set to win for the second year on the bounce.

“It’s incredible to see how well both the Vantage and the R8 did in reeling the Gallardo back in.”
