Update on my 2022 Toyota Camry Hybrid after 1 year / 8879 km
The car, as expected, has been performing flawlessly. As I write this, the car is currently at 8879 km, which is slightly lower when compared to my original estimate of ~10000 kms a year.

1 year update:
- So, today, 4th December marks exactly 1 year since we brought the car home, time passes so quickly. The car, as expected, has been performing flawlessly. As I write this, the car is currently at 8879 km, which is slightly lower when compared to my original estimate of ~10000 kms a year. A couple of updates from my side:
- I am just liking the music system even more. I now feel that the ICE has acceptable bass if you turn the volume up. Listening to my favorite bands like Nirvana, and Linking Park has never been satisfying ever since my parents confiscated my earphones. At the same time, the Canton system in the Skodas is still far better. However, the head unit itself is very bad. Sometimes it lags when you are playing music and simultaneously looking for directions on Google Maps via Android Auto
- The auto hold system is simply superb in start-stop traffic. Helps relax the drive even more. Although I struggled initially with the system primarily due to my feeling that the accelerator pedal could have done with a bit more sensitivity, I have gotten used to it now.
- The TPMS comes in very handy. There were 2 occasions when the front left tyre was losing air and the system promptly pointed it out and tire was promptly attended to. However, roads in my area are in a complete mess due to the ongoing metro activity and the 18-inch wheels combined with the low-profile tire make me concerned. Going over a sharp bump, I feel that the wheels are being hurt. Also, the rims and tires and not at all cheap to replace. Will see how this turns out.
- In around June or July, our chauffeur misjudged a pillar in our parking and slightly scraped the rear bumper. This was the first scrape of the car and have made peace with it. Later, there was another minor mishap where the car was nudged by another car whilst waiting at a signal on the rear bumper. The damage was quite minor though.
- Toyota’s data privacy simply sucks. In November, the car’s insurance was expiring and my father was literally bombarded with calls every single day from different agencies regarding the renewal.
Will update the thread further when time passes
