Mercedes e-truck completes 1000 km drive with only 1 charging stop

The electric truck is capable of charging from 20-80% in just 30 minutes.

According to reports, the Mercedes-Benz eActross 600 electric truck prototype has successfully completed a 1000 km long-distance haulage test across the Alps.

The prototype electric truck loaded with 40 tonnes of weight was driven from Stuttgart, Germany to Bolzano, Italy, via the Swabian mountain range. The eActross 600 prototype managed the steep inclines & challenging roads to complete the 530 km trip in seven hours without having to stop. Once in Bolzano, the e-truck charged up and headed back to Stuttgart to complete the test run.

The Mercedes-Benz eActross 600 comes with three lithium-ion phosphate battery packs with a total capacity of 600 kWh in series production. The battery packs are paired with two electric motors, producing 400 kW and a peak output of 600 kW. The electric truck is capable of charging from 20-80% in just 30 minutes and has been designed to deliver 1.2 million km on the road over 10 years.

The eActross 600 will have its global unveil soon, with production expected to begin in 2024.
