Tata Harrier, Safari to get Lane Keep Assist via software update

The Lane Keep Assist feature is currently being calibrated and is expected to be rolled out in the upcoming batches of the Harrier and Safari.

Tata Motors recently launched the updated Harrier and Safari. Both SUVs come with ADAS, which includes several active safety systems. However, one feature that has been missing is Lane Keep Assist.

According to Tata Motors, it was not possible to include this feature on the Harrier and Safari, as both SUVs used a hydraulic power steering setup. However, with the updated versions switching to an electric power steering system, Lane Keep Assist can be implemented.

It is said that Tata is currently working on its calibration and will roll out the feature in the upcoming batches of the Harrier and Safari. Those who have already purchased the vehicle will get the feature via a software update.

Global NCAP recently announced the crash test results for the Harrier and Safari. Both SUVs scored 33.05 points for adult occupant safety and 45 points for child occupant protection, resulting in a 5-star rating.
