Stand back for the new Liberty Walk Abarth 595
The titchiest Abarth was always brimming with attitude – time for Liberty Walk to crank it off the scale

The joy of Liberty Walk is that nothing is sacred. There’s not a car on this planet, if they deem it worthy enough, LB Works wouldn’t transform in their own unique style. See their Ferrari F40, for example. Which is now painted white, rather than just wrapped white, because the boss doesn’t like wrapping expensive cars. When the rules are there ain’t no rules, you’re guaranteed some outrageous creations.
Now Liberty Walk has the perfect everyday car to go alongside the F40: a widebody Abarth 595. Teased on social media ahead of a reveal at the Tokyo Auto Salon next month, it boasts everything we’ve come to expect from a Liberty Walk build: a staggering widebody, a ride height ready to grind the tarmac away and some of the silliest spoilers ever seen. Yet with an oddly cohesive end result. An Abarth 595 shouldn’t be this wide and this low and this far from standard yet look so good – but here we are.
The kit comprises the front bumper and canard, side skirts, rear spoiler and diffuser, bonnet and wider wings. For those feeling ever so slightly less courageous when it comes to overhauling an Abarth, the diffuser, rear spoiler and bonnet are available as individual items. There is also a wheel decision to make, of course, if going all in. We’re not smart enough to identify what these are, though it’ll come as no surprise to learn that bronze works a treat against the pearl white.
Pre-orders are being accepted on the Liberty Walk Abarth 595 now, including for Europe. Unsurprisingly given the time and love that goes into these things, it doesn’t come cheap: LibertyWalkEU says its £12,771 plus VAT and fitting, both of which will add a chunk to the price. But then the notion of a small Abarth with a big price is hardly a new one, and tuning the 500 family is an integral part of the appeal. It’d certainly make for quite the arrival at the next Abarth meet. Expect more pictures and details come January.
