Royal Enfield unveils Himalayan EV test bike at EICMA 2023

The electric Himalayan was showcased alongside the Himalayan 450.

Royal Enfield has unveiled the much-awaited Himalayan 450 at EICMA 2023. Another bike that is making headlines is the Him-E.

The Him-E is a pure-electric ADV prototype that is being used by Royal Enfield to develop the brand’s next-gen electric powertrain. The bike is said to have been tested and fine-tuned in the wind tunnel. It has also been put through intense testing in all sorts of terrain.

According to the company, the battery forms a structural element of the bike. It is equipped with an upside-down front fork and a mono-shock at the rear and rides on wire-spoke wheels. Braking is handled by a set of petal-type discs.

Royal Enfield hasn’t disclosed the exact technical specifications of the Himalayan EV. However, the company did mention that the prototype has been in the works for the last 18 months and could spawn a production bike in the future.
