Purchased a Skoda Octavia demo car; initial impressions & modifications
Eventually after searching across the country and used-car markets, I miraculously ended up getting my hands on this demo vehicle in Bangalore.

Hi All, I am super excited to share my new Octavia MK4 with you all. Possibly the last of the registrations of this model in India.
I have always wanted to own one (TeamBHP forum discussions definitely had a role to play here), and missed the opportunity while it was still selling in the Indian market. It was only recently that I firmed up my decision and started my search intently. Eventually after searching across the country and used-car markets, I miraculously ended up getting my hands on this demo vehicle in Bangalore.
After an independent inspection, I went ahead with the car. Next up was a long wait of getting the car ready – one round of service, chrome delete (wherever possible – front grill, side mirror caps, Skoda & Octavia badging), and painting front callipers red (not easily visible as alloys cover most part of it). It took multiple missed deadlines and almost 2-3 weeks for the dealership to deliver the car.
We were looking for a dark colour (black mostly) and were unsure of the Brilliant Silver that we found. So I went to Esperto Koramangala (basis recommendations on the forum) to get a good opinion on the available options and also detail both exteriors and interiors. Arjun was very helpful, and eventually, we decided against colored PPF – I guess it was too experimental for us (maybe I will explore this upgrade in a couple of years). We got the ceramic coating done and Arjun ensured the car was taken care of in the best manner. Thankful to the forum for the suggestion.
I have been driving the car for over a week now, and I am amazed at the power on tap in particular. Weekdays are mostly traffic-struck office commutes, but I have tested the car on the Mysore Highway briefly and otherwise in the wee hours – and it always brings a big smile to the face.
Still exploring the vehicle and will be relying on your expert input to make the ownership even more enjoyable. Sharing a few pictures here.
