Next-gen Jeep Wrangler to electric-only; To debut in 2028

According to media reports, the next-generation iteration of the Jeep Wrangler could be offered exclusively with an electric powertrain.
Reports state that the current-gen Wrangler will be listed till 2028, with the 4xe Hybrid version slated to get an update in 2025. The next-gen J70 Wrangler though, slated for launch in 2028, will exclusively be offered with two electric powertrains – one being a battery-electric option, while the second uses a combustion engine as a range extender. The current ICE and plug-in hybrid powertrains of the Wrangler will be discontinued.
The new-gen Jeep Wrangler is expected to be unveiled in 2027, before going on sale in international markets sometime in 2028.
Reports also mention about the next-gen iterations of the Jeep Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer. Current-gen versions of both these models will also continue till 2028, with a mid-cycle refresh in 2025 and a second refresh in 2027. 2025 will also see the introduction of the Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer’s electric version with a range-extender engine, while their fully electric versions are listed for 2027.
