Mahindra Thar 5-door looks production-ready in new spy shots

The Thar 5-door will be offered with the same engine options as the 3-door version.

New spy images of the Mahindra Thar 5-door have surfaced online. These images reveal what appears to be a close-to-production development mule, along with a few interesting details. 

The spy images suggest that the Thar 5-door will get a unique front fascia featuring a redesigned grille and circular LED headlamps. The SUV has squared-off wheel arches and tweaked LED taillamp clusters. The high-mounted stoplight has also been repositioned. It is now located above the rear window.

On the inside, the Thar 5-door is expected to get a larger touchscreen infotainment system, heavily bolstered front seats with a large centre armrest, and a single-pane sunroof.

The Thar 5-door will be offered with the same engine options as the 3-door version. These include a 2.2-litre diesel producing 130 BHP and 300 Nm and a 2.0-litre petrol that makes 150 BHP and 300-320 Nm. Both engines are likely to be offered with 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic transmissions.
