Lotus Eletre electric SUV launched in India at Rs 2.55 crore
The top-spec Lotus Eletre R costs Rs 2.99 crore (ex-showroom).
British sportscar maker Lotus has announced its entry into the Indian market with the launch of the Eletre electric SUV. It is available in three variants with prices starting at Rs 2.55 crore.
The Eletre is the brand’s first all-electric SUV, which made its global debut in 2022. The Eletre is based on the brand’s Electric Premium Architecture.
The design of the Eletre is inspired by the Evija electric hypercar. It has a distinct front end with boomerang-shaped headlights. At the rear is a continuous LED light bar with massive vents at either end. The SUV also gets a retractable rear wing and an additional stepped roof spoiler. It rides on 22-inch wheels as standard, however Lotus does offer 20-inch and 23-inch wheel options.
The Eletre SUV gets a sleek and futuristic cockpit with a sporty steering wheel and a large 15.1-inch touchscreen in the centre. It comes with a 23-speaker KED sound system, a panoramic sunroof and an ADAS suite comprising of four lidar sensors and seven HD cameras.
In India, the Eletre is available with two powertrain options. The base and S trims come with a 597 BHP / 710 Nm single-motor setup, while the Eletre R is powered by dual motors producing 896 BHP / 985 Nm.
All three variants of the Eletre feature a 112 kWh battery pack. The base and S trims offer a range of 600 km, while the R variant can cover 490 km on a single charge.
Lotus also plans to introduce the Emira sports car in India next year.
