‘I’m a car expert – half of drivers don’t know pressing a button opens trunk’
A motoring expert has revealed a feature that he believes only half of drivers are aware about but can save valuable time when loading their car.
Wyatt regularly posts to his TikTok page, @wyattworthy, giving viewers an insight into owning and modifying his two Ford Mustangs.
In one of his videos, he shares a little tip that can save motorists a great deal of time when opening their car’s trunk.
He explained: “I can’t believe how many people actually don’t know but there’s a button right here that you can open the trunk with.
“Under the GT badge, right here above the license plate is a little button and when you press it the trunk opens.”

Whilst many cars in the past required owners to open the compartment by pulling a handle or pressing a button that was fitted to the tailgate, Wyatt noted that many new cars have remote opening trunks.
Like many modern cars, the Mustang lets drivers open the trunk by pressing a button that is found on the dashboard or via the key fob.
To learn about all the ways in which their trunk can be opened on their model, drivers are advised to read the owner’s manual that came with their car.

Wyatt said that, whilst the trick may seem obvious to some car owners, he has noticed that many motorists are unaware of the feature.
He added: “I thought that was kind of like common sense, but I work at a hotel and a lot of people will leave their keys in there, and when they want to open the trunk they’ll literally walk all the way [inside] and press the button.
“Being generous when I say this, I’d say half of them know that’s actually a thing.”
Whilst some viewers stated that they knew about the button as soon as they first bought their Mustang, others confessed that they only recently learnt this trick.
One driver said: “I found out five months later after buying my Mustang.”
Another commented: “Same thing in [Chevrolet] Camaros, I found that out like six months after owning mine.”
