Drivers explain genius method to stop your windshield fogging up

World's first fete powered entirely by electric cars

Drivers have advised others about a cheap bathroom product that can be used as a genius hack to make your car windshield and windows fog-free in just seconds.

As we move into winter time, colder temperatures can mean drivers are using their heaters more often to stay warm in their cars.

This can, however, result in fog on the inside of the vehicle’s windows and distort the driver’s view.

In warm, humid areas, turning on the air conditioning can cause the opposite issue — fog blurring your windows from the outside.

But luckily, drivers have let slip about a genius little-known hack that can get rid of the fog in just a matter of seconds.

Instead of using an expensive product, shaving foam can work just as well at stopping your car from fogging up, drivers have said.

One Reddit user wrote: “I don’t know if this already has been posted, But I only recently came across this life hack.

“So, here in the Netherlands, the fines for fogged windows are pretty high.

“You drive an older car like me, you probably suffer from fogged-up windows this time of year.”

The user then explained the process of using shaving foam to tackle the problem.

They wrote: “Use shaving foam to stop this!

“Just put some on your window and spread it with a clean cloth, piece of sponge, or whatever.

“Wipe it completely off and it should work fine.”

Users were quick to praise the writer after trying the hack out for themselves with great results.

One person wrote: “I’ve used it on my bathroom mirror for almost ten years. Never did I think to use it on my car windshield.”

Another said: “Oh wow, thank you for that. Have tried everything else.”

Meanwhile, another explained that people who race motorcycles “have used it forever, it keeps your goggles from fogging over”.
