Drivers can charge their electric cars for free today with a special offer

Electric car owners can top-up their EVs completely free of charge today at hundreds of bays across the UK.
EV bay operator RAW Charging will remove all charges on Saturday, September 9 to celebrate World EV Day.
Free charging began from 12.01am this morning and will run until 23:59 tonight.
RAW specialises in providing services to the hospitality, leisure and retail industries with several bug companies using their plugs.
Over 500 charges are located at Greene King pubs across the country as well as McArthurGlen outlets in York, Bridgend and the East Midlands.

RAW devices can also be found at several Merlin Entertainment attractions, Bespoke Hotels and National Trust sites.
The offer is being rolled out for the second successive year just 12 months after the schemeโs debut.
Jason Simpson, CEO of RAW Charging said the offer was a chance to thank customers for using their service.
He explained: โFor a second year in a row, weโd like to celebrate World EV Day by giving back to the EV drivers of the UK.
โOur partnerships with businesses in the hospitality, leisure and retail sectors show the importance of destination charging and weโd like to thank our customers at these venues by offering free charging on 9 September 2023.

RAW Charging is not the only firm offering to help road users with a series of special offers available.
EZ Charge will also offer extra incentives with app members given the first hour free.
Meanwhile, Blink Charging will be marking World EV Day with a donation to charities hoping to eradicate lung disease.
Reacting to the news of the offers, Oxfordshire County Councillor Pete Sudbury explained the importance of World EV Day to motorists.
He commented: โEVs have gone from a rarity to a common sight on our roads in only a few years.
โWorld EV Day is a way of marking this important change, signposting people to useful information and advice about making the switch, offering innovative opportunities to experience electric driving, as well as helping and guiding those who have already made that switch.โ
