Drink you’ll have in your kitchen fridge can remove rust spots on your car

A soft drink that most Britons store in their fridge could remove the rust from their cars in a matter of seconds, a motor fan has revealed. 

Rust repairs on cars are notoriously expensive as they occasionally warrant the replacement of entire panels, but there are cheaper ways to circumvent hefty costs. 

The chemical reactions happen anywhere on a vehicle where the car’s metal parts have started reacting with oxygen and providing iron oxide.

Removing it is every driver’s worst nightmare as repair costs can range anywhere between $400 and $2,000, excluding repainting frees.

Fortunately, motor fanatics at Motor Biscuit have shared a quick-fix solution for tackling car rust, using just Coca-Cola and a sponge.

Experts claim the fizzy drink is easier to use once it is already a bit flat, so it doesn’t immediately start fizzing during the cleaning process.

Due to its lower sugar content, the Diet variety of Coca-Cola can also save drivers a lot of time wiping down the residual build-up of sugar.

According to motoring experts at Motor Biscuit, Diet Coke offers the best results when used with a sponge or folded aluminum foil.

The science behind it makes sense, given that Coca-Cola consists of carbonate, which directly tackles the metal oxides found in the rust.

The citric acid in Coca-Cola also removes stains, which is why the soft drink is deemed such an effective cleaner by so many professional car mechanics.

Additionally, the phosphoric acid gives the drink a rust-busting power tough enough to tackle the rust on cars.

When signs of rust appear they must be kept under control as quickly as possible so that the structural integrity of the cars doesn’t become compromised.

In more severe cases, replacement of entire parts of the car may be necessary for restoring the vehicle to its original condition.
