Electric car owners could soon save hundreds of pounds on their energy bills under new two-way charging technology plans.<\/p>\n

Electricity stored in their EV\u2019s could soon be used to power home appliances such as fridges and washing machines.<\/p>\n

The new infrastructure is being developed using Government funding and will help families struggling with the cost of living crisis.<\/p>\n

Amanda Solloway, Minister for Affordability and Skills said the technology could save households \u201chundreds of pounds\u201d every year.<\/p>\n

She said: \u201cThe prospect of families being able to store energy on their doorstep in electric vehicles and use it to power their homes is incredibly exciting.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is exactly the sort of ingenuity and creativity that makes the UK one of the world\u2019s most innovative nations.<\/p>\n

\u201cBy backing this technology, we could save families hundreds of pounds a year, while also supporting jobs, investment and growth.\u201d<\/p>\n

Homeowners will be able to power their homes as a result of bidirectional charging tools and Vehicle-to-Everything (V2X) technologies.<\/p>\n

This will allow electricity stored in a vehicle\u2019s battery to flow back into the grid or back into a home.<\/p>\n
