The top-of-the-line BMW iX M60 is also more expensive (by $2,600) and starts at $111,500.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Initially, we believed the cheaper, entry-level\u00a0xDrive40 version sold in other markets would enter the U.S. this year after it was discovered on the EPA website.<span>\u00a0This version\u00a0<\/span>was first launched in Europe<span>, where\u00a0<\/span>InsideEVs\u00a0had an opportunity to take a test drive in 2022<span>.\u00a0<\/span><span>But BMW has confirmed to us that the\u00a0xDrive40 is not coming here after all; its\u00a0<\/span><span>presence among EPA ratings is a result of homologation in Canada where the xDrive40 has already been launched.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The other two versions\u2014xDrive50 and M60\u2014are already available in the U.S. and sell pretty well. All iXs are dual-motor all-wheel drive, although the higher the version, the more power, torque, and acceleration they offer.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.motor1.com\/images\/static\/16x9-tr.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.motor1.com\/images\/static\/16x9-tr.png\"><\/p>\n<p>Like in the case of the other BMW models, the import into the U.S. as well as the price tag (exceeding the $80,000 cap), disqualifies it from the eligibility for the $7,500 federal tax credit.<\/p>\n<h3><span><svg class=\"arrow-heading\"><use xlink:href=\"https:\/\/insideevs.com\/design\/dist\/critical\/icons\/sprite-common-0-dc6b7de11d922cb73553899f27128303.svg#sqr-arrow\"\/><\/svg><\/span>Prices<\/h3>\n<table>\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td><strong>Model<\/strong><\/td>\n<td><strong>Base Price<\/strong><\/td>\n<td><strong>Dest. However, we do not expect the same real-world range results for each wheel size.<\/p>\n<p>The base BMW iX xDrive40 is rated at 217 miles of EPA Combined range.\u00a0The 2024 BMW iX xDrive50 has an EPA range of 307 miles (compared to 305-324 miles previously).
