Walmart has partnered with India’s Hero Cycles to sell their India-made bicycles across their stores in the USA. The partnership has been confirmed by Taranjit Singh Sandhu, the Indian Ambassador to the USA, who took to social media platform, X (formerly Twitter), to make the announcement.

Reports state that Walmart is moving away from its longstanding partner China, and towards India. This has been especially true since 2018, when the US company acquired India’s e-commerce platform, Flipkart. Walmart is said to be “committed” to doing business with India, with aims to average $10 billion each year by 2027. This includes everything from toys, electronics, packaged foods and bicycles.

Coming back to the two-wheelers, Hero Cycles has been manufacturing bicycles since 1956. The company offers a wide range of products from kids’ cycles, urban ragers, MTBs, and now, even e-bikes. Prices for the products range from $100 and go all the way up to $1500. However, neither Walmart nor Hero Cycles have revealed the product lineup which will be on offer to customers in the US. Although, considering Walmart is known to offer budget-friendly products, the cycles could also reflect the same.
