The popular motoring YouTuber Doug DeMuro has shared an interesting hidden feature found on one of the most popular electric minivans.

Doug regularly posts videos to his successful YouTube channel in which he reviews a variety of interesting cars, old and new, in particular showing off their ‘quirks and features’.

In one of his videos, Doug tests the all-electric Volkswagen ID Buzz, showing viewers how there is a storage compartment that many owners may not know about.

He explained: “There’s a hidden storage compartment in front of the centre console that pulls out towards the front of the car.

“Another clever little storage compartment, press this button in the front and you can pull the entire centre console out of the van, in case you’d rather use this centre area for something else.”

In the video, Doug shows how drivers can store a variety of different sized items in between the front two seats in the Volkswagen.

Smaller items can be stored in a secure location by pulling out a small drawer towards the front of the centre console, which can be particularly useful when hiding valuables from thieves.

However, bulkier items can also be carried in this spot by pulling the silver tab at the top of the centre console unit, which allows it to be completely removed.

Later in the video, Doug also highlighted that the doors of the Volkswagen ID Buzz also have a hidden feature that add to the retro-styled van’s charm whilst having a good use.

He continued: “Opening the door, you see a smiley face right there next to the door handle. This is a little cap that’s placed on the door.

“Mechanics will take it off in order to get in there and loosen the door panel and remove it if something breaks. All cars have this, but the ID Buzz has a smiley face to help brighten your day.”
