A motoring expert has revealed a tip that can help drivers prevent causing expensive damage when opening their doors in tight spaces.

@FeuuvertTN is a YouTuber that shares short videos, showing viewers small hacks that they can do around the house and in their car.

In a recent video, @FeuuvertTN showed viewers how they can avoid denting or chipping the edges of their vehicle’s doors when opening them in tight parking spaces.

In the video, we see the YouTuber getting out of their white hatchback, only to hit a low bollard that may not have been visible from the door mirror.

To their frustration, @FeuuvertTN reveals that the impact caused the very edge of the car door to be chipped, which looks unsightly and could lead to rust if it is not treated quickly.

However, later in the video, @FeuuvertTN shows that motorists can buy small plastic tabs which fit in the corner of each door to prevent damage.

The protector simply slides onto the door and attaches thanks to adhesive, not requiring any screws or bolts to be fitted.

The YouTuber finishes the short video by showing how the protectors can easily absorb the impact of the door edge hitting objects whilst still looking smart.

Don’t miss… Car door protectors, sometimes called edge guards, are a common way for drivers to prevent causing dents, chips and scratches.

They come in different forms, with some protectors spanning the entire length of the door, and colours that best suit the vehicle they are fitted to.

In addition, some companies also offer protectors to put on the side of car doors to protect damage from other road users.
