{"id":247560,"date":"2023-12-06T12:18:58","date_gmt":"2023-12-06T12:18:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/automotobuzz.com\/?p=247560"},"modified":"2023-12-06T12:18:58","modified_gmt":"2023-12-06T12:18:58","slug":"cng-car-sales-in-india-across-all-segments-heres-the-breakdown","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/automotobuzz.com\/news-features\/cng-car-sales-in-india-across-all-segments-heres-the-breakdown\/","title":{"rendered":"CNG car sales in India across all segments: Here&#8217;s the breakdown!"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>The Maruti WagonR is the best-selling CNG vehicle in India<\/h2>\n<p><strong>BHPian pqr<\/strong> recently shared this with other enthusiasts.<\/p>\n<p><strong>2023 (Jan-Oct) Model-wise CNG-mix-trend<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>CNG vehicles contribute 12.8% of total passenger vehicle sales in India.<\/li>\n<li>Maruti WagonR (78,351) is the best-selling CNG vehicle in India, followed by Maruti Ertiga (65,347) and Maruti Dzire (46,322).<\/li>\n<li>Maruti commands a 75% market share of CNG vehicles, as it offers CNG options across its product portfolio with a C-Series engine.<\/li>\n<li>This is followed by Tata (12%), Hyundai (11%), and Toyota, which has rebadged Maruti&#8217;s.<\/li>\n<li>Low-cost hatchbacks command 39% of the CNG vehicle market, followed by MUVs (26%), sedans (20%), and SUVs (15%).<\/li>\n<li>Tata offers the most innovative dual-tank CNG option on the Altroz and Punch, with almost little sacrifice in boot capacity.<\/li>\n<li>Strangely, no automatic transmission option is available yet in the CNG segment from any manufacturer.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><strong>Hatchback<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.team-bhp.com\/sites\/default\/files\/pictures2023-09\/cng-sales-1.png\"><\/p>\n<h2><strong>MUV<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><strong><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.team-bhp.com\/sites\/default\/files\/pictures2023-09\/cng-sales-2.png\"><\/strong><\/p>\n<h2><strong>Sedan<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><strong><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.team-bhp.com\/sites\/default\/files\/pictures2023-09\/cng-sales-3.png\"><\/strong><\/p>\n<h2><strong>SUV<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.team-bhp.com\/sites\/default\/files\/pictures2023-09\/cng-sales-4.png\"><\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s what <strong>BHPian AGupta<\/strong> had to say on the matter:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>Aura is CNG&#8217;s favourite among the masses including private registration.
