Motorists looking for a new car in 2024 should look no further than these award-winning models with MG, Ferrari and BMW among the top brands.

The Car Expert Awards have highlighted the best new vehicles on the market with units still available for 2024.

Electric cars dominated the headlines with seven of the 12 award winners coming from EV models.

BMW also stole the show with three of their models picking up prizes in a superb year for the German manufacturer.

However, it was MG’s new fully electric model which picked up the top gong in an iconic victory for the British marque.

MG 4

The fully-electric model has scooped this year’s Car of the Year award after wowing judges since its launch.

The model also picked up a gong for being the Best Medium Car on sale to motorists this year.

The MG 4 was praised for its exceptional affordability with brand-new models priced at just £36,000.

The model also topped the awards for its class-leading battery range with over 300 miles promised on one top-up.

Stuart Masson, Editorial Director at The Car Expert explained: “The MG 4 is, quite simply, a remarkable car. It’s fully electric, with a battery range of more than 300 miles on some versions. It has a five-star safety rating. It’s very well kitted out. It comes with a seven-year warranty.

“And its pricing makes every other family car on the road, let alone other electric cars, look silly.”

Ferrari Purosangue

This is the Italian brand’s first five-door production vehicle and has claimed the prize for the Best Luxury SUV.

With a top speed of 193 mph, the Purosangue certainly packs a punch and is the ultimate family car for petrolheads.

However, those looking to snap one up will have to wait with the model completely sold out until at least 2025

Mr Masson commented: “We know that Ferrari doesn’t like describing the Purosangue as an SUV. But, honestly, has any other vehicle ever offered both sport and utility at anything like this level?

“All of the usual Ferrari hallmarks are present, combining a thrilling driving experience with sublime luxury – all powered by a superb 6.5-litre V12 engine.”

BMW i7

According to The Car Expert, the i7 has been compared to models from Rolls-Royce meaning it is no surprise it picked up this year’s Best Luxury Car gong.

The electric model has been particularly praised for its spacious interior with generous amounts of built-in technology.

The model comes with a phenomenal 388-mile range but comes at a cost with models just under £100,000.

BMW M2

BMW has scooped the best Performance Car price for three years running with the M2 topping the bill this time around.

As standard, the model is electronically locked at 155 mph but this can be de-restricted to reach 177mph.

The model is valued at a staggering £61,495 but this could be the last petrol model from the iconic German marque.

Honda Civic Type R

This model scooped the Best Hot Hatch award with an expert rating of 90 percent, making it one of the highest-rated new cars on sale.

The model starts at £46,995 but could also be the last petrol-powered Type R from the Japanese car maker.

Mr Masson said: “The new Honda Civic Type R manages to maintain the superlative driving characteristics we’ve come to know and love from anything wearing the famous red Type R badge, but adds a new level of maturity and sophistication that is shared with the entire Civic range.”
