MOT: Quick checks to do before having your test

The DVSA has issued an urgent reminder to all motorists months after a major MOT test change.

From July, MOT test certificates now include details about any outstanding recalls using real-time data.

It means road users will become aware of urgent safety recalls when their vehicle either passes or fails an annual exam.

The new recall notice will feature prominently on the front page of a DVSA MOT certificate meaning it cannot be missed by road users.

However, many vehicle owners may not be aware of what this warning means which could be a blow to motorists affected.
