Wheeler Dealers host Mike Brewer has predicted classic car owners will still be able to use petrol stations in over 25 years, despite a nationwide move towards electrification.

The TV star believes “nothing is going to change” for historic vehicle owners despite the industry’s focus on electric cars.

The UK’s 2035 petrol and diesel car ban means the everyday motorist will have an electric vehicle by 2050.

The National Grid has estimated the number on UK roads by this date will be around 37.4 million.

Erik Fairbairn, an expert at electric car charging firm Pod Point has previously predicted that 97 percent of EV charging will be done away from petrol station equivalents.

However, Mr Brewer feels petrol and diesel will still be available for historic vehicle owners despite fears.

Speaking to Express.co.uk, he said: “The alternative to that might be the film Mad Max where we are all chasing the last gallon of fuel.

“That’s what people think what’s going to happen. We are all going to be chasing each other spraying in their mouths shouting Valhalla for the last gallon of fuel.
