Petrol and diesel owners can dramatically increase their fuel economy by as much as 25 percent by correctly using one car lever, according to experts.<\/p>\n

Specialists at LeaseVan have warned that simply sticking to the correct speed limit is the easiest way motorists can save pennies.<\/p>\n

The comparison group warned that more fuel tends to be used the faster that vehicles are travelling.<\/p>\n

According to the AA, the amount of petrol and diesel drivers can save will vary depending on the speeds they are going.<\/p>\n

The breakdown specialists warn that the highest increase is likely when road users increase their speeds from 70mph to 80mph on motorways.<\/p>\n

It means those desperate to get home are likely to pay the consequences of increased payments at the end of the month.<\/p>\n

The AA said: \u201cGoing faster uses more fuel. Drive at 70mph and you\u2019ll use up to nine percent more than at 60mph and up to 15 percent more than at 50mph. Taking it up to 80mph can use up to 25 percent more fuel than at 70mph.\u201d<\/p>\n

Experts at Taylor Auto Glass have stressed most vehicles peak fuel efficiency occurs somewhere between 50-60mph.<\/p>\n

Going above this will increase aerodynamic drag and force your engine to work harder.<\/p>\n
