An automotive expert has taken to social media to show viewers a useful key fob trick that can keep motorists safe, particularly when travelling at night or when alone.

The TikTok user @carknowledge_ regularly posts to the popular social media platform to teach viewers how to improve their driving skills and highlight hidden features found in many modern cars.

In one of his videos, @carknowledge_ showed viewers how they can set a security feature on their vehicle’s key fob, in which pressing it once only opens the driver’s door.

He explained: “Press and hold the lock button and unlock button at the same time for five seconds, only open the left [drivers’ side] door and the setting is complete.

“Later we press the unlock button. Only the left front door can be opened, other doors cannot be opened.”
