The company\u2019s Gujarat plant will serve as the manufacturing base for the eVX. It will also be exported to global markets, including Europe.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The Maruti eVX will be based on a dedicated EV platform jointly developed with Toyota. The concept car was said to be powered by a 60 kWh battery pack offering a maximum range of around 550 km.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The eVX will be heavily localized in order to keep prices in check. It is said that the electric SUV will be powered by batteries sourced from the local market as well.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>According to Rahul Bharti, Executive Director, Corporate Affairs, Maruti Suzuki, &#8220;It is not enough to simply launch a model with imported batteries and motors. Our plan is that when we launch an EV, it should be locally made.
