Battery supplier boost for KG Mobility, the brand formerly known as SsangYong<\/h2>\n

KGM\u00a0changed its name from SsangYong earlier this year following a takeover by KG Mobility\u00a0in 2022. Now the relaunched brand has announced a partnership with Chinese giant BYD for the development of future EVs and the use of crucial battery technology.\u00a0<\/p>\n

In KG Mobility\u2019s statement, the Korean firm said: \u201cThis technical partnership with BYD, renowned for its exceptional technological expertise in electric vehicle battery cells and packs, aims to secure the company's continued and\u00a0sustainable growth.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

The world\u2019s largest maker of electric cars, BYD produces its own batteries for cars like the Atto 3, Dolphin and Seal, featuring its \u2018Blade Battery\u2019 design which utilises space within the battery pack more efficiently than a traditional pack of lithium ion phosphate cells.\u00a0<\/p>\n
