It is the most potent version of the litre-class touring bike, the S 1000 XR and the third model in its M line-up.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><span>Unlike the latest BMW R 1300 GS, BMW has retained the dual-headlamp setup on the M 1000 XR. Being a sports tourer, it offers a more upright riding position. It features winglets that are said to generate 12 kg of downforce at 220 km\/h.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The optional M Competition package includes M Carbon wheels, a carbon rear wheel cover with an integrated chain guard, carbon side panels, adjustable M footrests, ignition\/steering lock over in carbon and a lap timer. It is said to reduce 3 kg off the overall weight of the bike.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The BMW M 1000 XR is powered by a 999cc, inline, 4-cylinder engine that makes 201 BHP and 112 Nm. The engine is mated with a 6-speed gearbox and a bi-directional quickshifter.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The bike rides on a fully adjustable 45 mm upside-down fork at the front and a monoshock at the rear. Braking is handled by twin 320 mm discs at the front and a single 265 mm disc at the rear.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The M 1000 XR comes with five riding modes &#8211; Rain, Road, Dynamic, Race, and Race Pro. It also has features like a pit lane limiter, launch control, dynamic traction control, wheelie control, ABS, slide control, dynamic brake control, shift assistant pro, automatic hill start control, and adaptive headlights.
