According to a media report, Audi’s plan to enter Formula One in 2026 has been put under review.

Reports state that the F1 entry plans of Audi were being “analysed in detail” by parent company Volkswagen, amidst a management change & cost-cutting measures.

Audi announced its plans to enter F1 from the 2026 season last year. The company will take over the Sauber F1 team, which is currently competing as Alfa Romeo, powered by Ferrari engines.

Audi though, had announced that it would make their own power unit at a facility in Neuburg an der Donau, close to the carmaker’s Ingolstadt headquarters.

While Audi’s commitment to Formula 1 has reportedly been swirling for weeks, an Audi spokesperson stated that the F1 entry has been agreed by the company’s management and supervisory boards, as well as by the parent company, Volkswagen. He further added that the timetable for their entry into the sport remains unchanged.
