Hard to believe PH has never held an event at Porsche HQ. We've finally put that right

Believe it or not, there’s never been a PH Sunday Service at Porsche GB. Though it looks like any old showroom from the M4 (because half of it is), Porsche Centre Reading is Stuttgart’s English holiday home and the place where its fleet of delectable press cars are prepped before journalists get their grubby mitts on them. Naturally, there’s a huge following for Porsche here on PH, and there’s a lot of love for PH at Porsche, too; a collab was always a matter of when, not if.

It certainly didn’t disappoint. Even though Porsche GB only has enough room for 100 cars, we managed to squeeze 200 in for our Sunday Service. Out front was a mouthwatering collection of new and old Porsches, highlighted by a beautifully restored 996 GT2, a lovely 964 Carrera 2 and a vibrant orange 997 GT3 RS. The Porsche GB press squad were on hand, too, with most of the company’s latest and greatest models parked out front, including the all-new 718 Spyder RS (essentially making its UK public debut) and a couple of 911 Dakars.

This wasn’t a Porsche-only event, mind. An M100 Lotus Elan in yellow turned a few heads, as did an immaculate-looking 8L generation Audi S3 in Nogaro Blue. PH Project Car was also back on display, having sat out our trip to Morgan to have the odd orangey spot sorted out. The competition to win our almost-but-not-quite Golf R beater closes soon, so be sure to enter here if you haven’t already.

A massive thank you to all who turned up on Sunday. The £5 for entry is going towards a good cause, with 100 per cent of the proceeds going to Place2Be: a charity that supports the mental health of children and young people. And, of course, many thanks to Porsche GB – especially the dealership staff who gave up their time – for opening their doors for us on a chilly Sunday morning and being on hand to have a natter about air and water-cooled flat sixes.

PH heads to Thruxton in December for our last Sunday Service of the year, so keep you eyes peeled on the home page as we’ll be opening registrations soon. See you then!
