Honda Motorcycles has announced that they are developing a new E-clutch system, which could be introduced on a number of its two-wheeler models in the near future.<\/p>\n
As per the company, the new E-clutch effectively allows riders to change gears without having to pull the clutch lever at any point. Instead, the clutch is operated electronically, but the system can be switched off depending on the rider’s preference.<\/p>\n
The new tech is meant to help reduce fatigue, especially during heavy stop-and-go traffic conditions. Honda claims the tech can “achieve smooth starting, shifting gears and stopping more natural than a rider\u2019s manual clutch operation.”<\/p>\n
Honda though, is yet to confirm which of the models in its lineup will receive the new e-clutch system. The brand is also yet to state whether the new system is compatible only with Honda motorcycles or could also be used on models from other manufacturers.<\/p>\n
Honda also offers a patented DCT gearbox on its flagship ADV & Tourer models, the Africa Twin & Gold Wing, respectively.<\/p>\n
