Red Bull driver Max Verstappen secured this third Formula 1 World Driver’s Championship at the recently concluded 2023 Qatar Grand Prix. Verstappen secured the title during Saturday’s Sprint Race after finishing second behind McLaren’s Oscar Piastri.

Max Verstappen is the 11th driver in the sport to secure three or more world championships. He is also the 5th driver to win three back-to-back world championships, putting him alongside F1 legends like Ayrton Senna, Niki Lauda, Jackie Stewart, Jack Brabham and Nelson Piquet. Verstappen only has Lewis Hamilton, Sebastian Vettel, Michael Schumacher, Juan Manuel Fangio and Alain Prost ahead of him with more championship wins.

The Dutch driver even created a record this season with the highest win streak, securing 10 Grand Prix wins in a row, beating the previous 9-win streak set by Sebastian Vettel. Red Bull has also been unbeatable this year, with Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez winning all but one race throughout the season.
