A motorway service station has been crowned as the UK\u2019s best for the second year in a row, with customers calling it \u201ca pleasure to visit\u201d and \u201cworth travelling a few more miles to reach\u201d.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Independent transport watchdog Transport Focus spoke to 30,000 visitors at 120 motorway services stations in Great Britain. Factors considered for the prestigious prize included opinions on toilets, customer service, value of the food and drink and electric vehicle charging facilities.<\/p>\n
It was Warwickshire-based Rugby Moto services, on the M6, which pipped the lot, with 100 percent of customers expressing satisfaction.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The UK\u2019s newest service station, Rugby Moto garnered some glowing praise online. One user, rating it five stars on Tripadvisor, described it as an \u201ceyeopener\u201d, alluding to its \u201chigh atrium and pleasant and bright eating area\u201d as well as it being \u201cspotlessly clean\u201d.\u00a0<\/p>\n

More info<\/p>\n Moto CEO Ken McMeikan said they were trying to \u201ctransform the UK\u2019s rest stop experience\u201d with an impressive array of features, including an \u201caccelerated roll out of Ultra-Rapid EV Chargers, upgraded shower facilities for HGV Drivers and ultra-fast WiFi for commuters\u201d.\u00a0<\/p>\n Its Rugby services is keen on its environmental sustainability, with features like sustainable drainage, a biomass energy boiler and \u201cwindow design to provide maximum daylight with minimal lighting to save energy\u201d.\u00a0<\/p>\n There were a number of other notable mentions in Transport Focus\u2019s survey, with Chester and Reading East scoring highly.\u00a0<\/p>\n At the other end of the scale, Hartshead Moor East (round the corner from Huddersfield) and both Toddington North and South let down its users relative to other stations.<\/p>\n![](\"https:\/\/cdn.images.express.co.uk\/img\/dynamic\/24\/590x\/secondary\/celebrate-4996101.jpg?r=1696674724437\")
