The River Indie electric scooter was launched in February this year. The first deliveries were initially planned for August but got delayed. The date of delivery depends on the date of pre-booking, and it seems some customer deliveries have now been pushed to March 2024.

We recently got a chance to ride the River Indie electric scooter in Bangalore. It is available in 2 variants: Utility and Lifestyle, and is priced at Rs 1.25 lakh (ex-showroom, Bangalore).

What sets it apart from other e-scooters is its design. The Indie comes with two large storage compartments – a 12-litre glove box and a 43-litre under-seat boot. The e-scooter is equipped with dual headlamps, a 6-inch digital instrument console and 14-inch alloy wheels.

The River Indie uses an electric motor that makes 9 BHP and 26 Nm. It is powered by a 4 kWh battery pack offering 120 km of range. The company claims that it takes 5 hours to charge the battery from 0-80% using a standard charger. The rider can switch between three riding modes: Eco, Ride and Rush.
