British sports car maker Lotus plans to foray into the Indian market. According to a media report, Lotus will offer the Emira and Eletre electric SUV through Exclusive Motors in New Delhi.

The Lotus Emira was introduced in 2021. The 2-door coupe borrows design cues from the all-electric Evija hypercar. It has an all-new interior featuring a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay connectivity, and a 10-speaker audio system.

The Lotus Emira is available with a choice of two engines – a Toyota-sourced 3.5-litre supercharged V6 petrol engine with either manual or automatic transmission and a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo-petrol unit from Mercedes-AMG paired with a dual-clutch automatic transmission.

The Eletre is the brand’s first all-electric SUV. It is based on the Electric Premium Architecture and features a dual-motor setup producing over 600 BHP. Lotus claims that the Eletre can sprint from 0 – 100 km/h in under 3 seconds and can reach a top speed of 260 km/h. The electric motor is paired with a battery pack of over 100 kWh, offering a range of 600 km on a single charge (WLTP cycle).
