Yes, this is a jugaad.<\/p>\n<p>I speculated the need for a rider backrest on my Bullet for the Ladakh ride from Trivandrum. Wanted a cheap backrest which could be installed without heavy modification of the seat (see YouTube videos which used car seat headrests).<\/p>\n<p>After hours of research and thought, finally inspiration struck.<\/p>\n<p>1. Buy this type of backrest, which is intended for the pillion rider. Cost Rs.749\/-<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.team-bhp.com\/sites\/default\/files\/pictures2023-09\/re-backrest-1.jpg\"><\/p>\n<p>2. Reverse the mounting clamps<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.team-bhp.com\/sites\/default\/files\/pictures2023-09\/re-backrest-2.jpeg\"><\/p>\n<p>3. Mount it to the nuts that hold the pillion grip on the seat<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.team-bhp.com\/sites\/default\/files\/pictures2023-09\/re-backrest-3.jpg\"><\/p>\n<p>4. Slight setback<\/p>\n<p>Due to the pre-drilled holes and due to the fact that the clamps are reversed, the back rest will be at a weird angle tipped to the front.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.team-bhp.com\/sites\/default\/files\/pictures2023-09\/re-backrest-4.jpeg\"><\/p>\n<p>5. Solution<\/p>\n<p>Drill a hole beside the default mounting top hole after marking the position after tilting the backrest at the desired angle<\/p>\n<p>Final set up<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.team-bhp.com\/sites\/default\/files\/pictures2023-09\/re-backrest-5.jpeg\"><\/p>\n<p>Points to consider<\/p>\n<p>Never install the backrest too close to your back.
