Specially designed algorithms can safely unlock extra performance from the EV batteries, bringing a host of benefits to carmakers.<\/p>\n The software works by accepting more energy recovery from regenerative braking and extending the usable state of charge windows.<\/p>\n New data from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) shows demand for electric models continues to grow.<\/p>\n There was a staggering 872 percent boost in sales across August with over 17,000 new battery electric models hitting the roads.<\/p>\n The data shows that almost four in 10 new cars sold are now electrified vehicles. However, experts have warned high costs of electric models were still stopping many from making the transition.<\/p>\n John Wilmot, CEO of LeaseLoco said: \u201cPrice and charging infrastructure remain a thorn in the Government\u2019s side.<\/p>\n \u201cThe demand is there to switch to electric but the high price of many EVs and concerns over the coverage and reliability of the charging network remain barriers to early switching.\u201d<\/p>\n
