Honda has announced its entry into the mid-size SUV segment with the Elevate. The SUV is available in four variants: SV, V, VX and ZX, with prices starting at Rs 11 lakh (ex-showroom).

The Elevate is based on Honda’s Global Small Car platform. The SUV measures 4,312 mm in length, 1,790 mm in width, 1,650 mm in height and has a wheelbase of 2,650 mm. The ground clearance is rated at 220 mm and it comes with a 458 litre boot.

The Elevate features an upright front fascia with a large rectangular grille, squared-off wheel arches and clean lines. The SUV has sleek LED headlamps up front, L-shaped LED tail lights, and it rides on 17-inch dual-tone alloy wheels.

The SUV has a dual-tone interior with beige upholstery. The minimalistic dashboard houses a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system in the centre with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, a 3-spoke steering wheel and a 7-inch semi-digital instrument cluster. It does miss out on a panoramic sunroof though. Instead, Honda only offers a single-pane sunroof in the Elevate.

The Elevate also comes equipped with the Honda Sensing ADAS suite, which includes safety features like a collision mitigation braking system, lane departure warning, adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, road departure warning and automatic high beam assist.

The Elevate is available with a 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder petrol engine producing 119 BHP @ 6,600 rpm and 145 Nm @ 4,300 rpm. It is mated with either a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed CVT.

The Honda Elevate competes with the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Volkswagen Taigun, Skoda Kushaq and Maruti Grand Vitara, among others.
