Go FAS Racing aligns with Stewart-Haas for 2020 NASCAR season

The Go FAS Racing No. 32 will receive technical support from Stewart-Haas Racing during the 2020 NASCAR season.

Go FAS Racing has made a decision that it hopes will allow the No. 32 CAR to Go FASTER next season.

Team owner Archie St. Hilaire has entered into a technical agreement with Stewart-Haas Racing that will give the No. 32 chassis, data and technical support in addition to the team’s ongoing relationship with Ford Performance.

At first glance, this would portend a pathway to the Cup Series for Stewart-Haas Xfinity Series driver Cole Custer, who is also the son of SHR team president Joe Custer. On the other hand, Corey Lajoie is still believed to be an option for that car, and the decision could ultimately have come down to 2020 as the final season of the current-generation car.

There will be few technical secrets to protect as next season winds down.

“2020 will be an exciting year at GFR with the addition of Stewart-Haas Racing cars and their technical assistance,” St. Hilaire said in a press release. “I can’t thank all of the great people at SHR for the opportunity to align with them. All of this couldn’t happen without the help of our wonderful sponsors and marketing partners.

“GFR has improved every year in our six years in the NASCAR Cup Series, and I believe that the best is yet to come for this little team and our great group of employees.”

The team says driver negotiations are still ongoing for 2020.
