Is That Mario Andretti Riding With Lewis Hamilton in a McLaren F1?
A short video on Instagram shows six-time Formula 1 champ Lewis Hamilton driving a silver McLaren F1 around Beverly Hills. For a second, we see a light-haired passenger sitting in the right-most seat of the McLaren.
And for a brief moment of recognition, we (mainly I) thought, “Wait. Hold up. Is that Mario Andretti?!”
It’s not.
As far as we (the rest of the people in the R&T office) can tell, it’s a person with long blond hair, wearing sunglasses. But it would have been cool as hell if it was four-time IndyCar champion, Formula One World Champion, Indy 500 winner, Daytona 500 winner, and all-around hero-legend Mario Andretti. Imagine that stoplight conversation.
Anyway, I feel like a little bit of an idiot for even believing that Mario and Lewis were just cruising around Southern California together in a McLaren F1. Whoever that is, though, they’re having a great time.
