The Aston Martin Valkyrie is arguably one of the most irrational machines conceived. And now this crazy V12-powered hybrid hypercar, which debuted in 2017, is finally rolling out of the workshop and into customer collections.
Billed as a Formula 1 car for the road, the Valkyrie has the stats to live up to claim. Powering this coupe is a 6.5-liter naturally aspirated V12 that works in conjunction with a KERS-style hybrid system to make over 1100 hp.
According to Aston Martin, it takes roughly 2000 labor-hours to complete one of these over-the-top machines. With that in mind, it’s probably not a huge surprise that this Aston Martin carries a large price tag and is capped at only 150 examples.
As these start to arrive in buyers’ hands, you’re probably wondering where Mercedes-Benz is with its incredibly hypercar. Well, the Mercedes-AMG One is slated to start production next year. That means Mercedes is lagging behind Aston, but both should racing through traffic soon.
Hitting the streets first, though, carries some hefty bragging rights. We’re sure that whoever is customer number one is eager for Aston Martin to deliver their new toy. And the 149 people behind them should be even more excited.
