Deliveries and test drives of the Volkswagen T-Roc have been delayed as the car is awaiting an ARAI certificate. It has been delayed due to the lockdown enforced to contain the spread of the coronavirus. It is said that the car is yet to complete the required distance for testing.
The process is said to take 15-20 days to complete. Test drives and deliveries are expected to commence post this certification.
Dealers have been citing software issues as the reason for the delay.
The T-Roc was launched in March 2020 and the car is imported as a completely built unit (CBU). The SUV is powered by a 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder, turbocharged petrol engine that produces 148 BHP @ 5,000-6,000 rpm and 250 Nm @ 1,500-3,500 rpm. The engine is paired to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
