Pebble Beach Concours to Be Broadcast Live and for Free

This year you’ll be able to watch the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance live and for free on a new link presented by WeatherTech and hosted by Hagerty at Racers-turned broadcasters Tommy Kendall and Justin Bell will co-host the broadcast, which starts at 12 noon Pacific time Aug. 15 and runs through to the Best of Show award at 5:00 pm. In addition to the activities on the 18th green itself there will be coverage throughout the week of other events directly tied to the Pebble Beach Concours, including The Tour on Thursday Aug. 12. Other events like The Quail and the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion will not be part of the show. Nonetheless, this looks like it could be good.

“Torque Show hosts Justin Bell and Tommy Kendall will kick off the weekend with the scenic Pebble Beach Tour d’Elegance drive to Big Sur on August 12th and will share exciting debuts and live action throughout the week, culminating with all of the automotive and scenic beauty of the Pebble Beach Concours on the 18th fairway at the Pebble Beach Golf Links on Sunday August 15th livestreamed to car enthusiasts around the world,” read a show release.

Kendall and Bell have been co-hosting IMSA programs for a couple years, the latest being the 2021 Sebring 12 Hours. The pair have been co-hosting “The Torque Show” as a “racing chat show,” what would be called a “talk show” here in America. The two made their debut at the 2019 Rolex Daytona 24. The show is produced out of a vintage Airstream trailer converted into a “state-of-the-art livestream production studio.” That show, broadcast across all social media platforms @TorqueShowLive, claims to have had more than a million viewers. It will now take on Pebble.

“We have basically been building up to this for the past three years, and our experience in both the world of live network TV and livestreaming hopefully will bring a dynamic and refreshing perspective on this incredible event to the viewers,” said executive producer Jason Jacobsen. “It is the best of television with none of the bad bits.”

It comes at a good time as this year’s Pebble promises to be memorable.

“This is an exciting year for the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, with over 40 past Best of Show winners and all of our overall Road Race winners reuniting for our 70th celebration—not to mention a host of special features ranging from early electrics and Pininfarina coachwork, to Porsche 917s and Lamborghini Countaches,” said Pebble Beach Concours Chairman Sandra Button. “So, we can’t wait to share this event with enthusiasts around the globe. And we think Justin Bell and the Torque Media team are just the team to do that; they are the best choice to produce our live stream. Their knowledge and experience bring an added level of expertise and entertainment to this broadcast.”

“I have had a wonderful relationship with Sandra and her team for many years, and to be entrusted with hosting the holy grail of automotive lifestyle events is a real honor,” said Justin Bell, co-founder and host of the Torque Show. “We are committed to making this the best year ever for the Concours, streamed live from the heart of the action, with amazing guests and coverage of the incredible cars that will be inspiring and delighting us on the fairway. The past year has been rough on everyone, we want to entertain and share this magical day with as many people as possible.”
