At present, the ZS EV is powered by a 44.5 kWh lithium-ion battery that offers a maximum range of 419 km.
According to Gaurav Gupta, Chief Commercial Officer, MG Motor India, the company plans to introduce an electric vehicle with a maximum range of up to 500 km.
Gupta stated that MG is looking to source a bigger battery that would offer extended range. However, he didn’t clarify whether the new battery would be offered in an existing model (ZS EV) or in a new model altogether.
At present, the ZS EV is powered by a 44.5 kWh lithium-ion battery that is said to have a maximum range of up to 419 km. It can be charged to 100% of its capacity in 6-8 hours using an AC charger and to 80% in 50 minutes using a 50 kW DC fast charger. The car has an electric motor that delivers 141 BHP and 353 Nm.
