Mahindra XUV.e8 electric SUV design patent leaked

The Mahindra XUV.e8 is expected to go on sale by the end of next year.

Mahindra is working on an electric version of the XUV700. Dubbed the XUV.e8, the electric SUV was showcased in concept form last year. Now, a leaked patent image has revealed what appears to be the production version.

The XUV.e8 will share most of its body panels with the XUV700. In its side profile, the EV looks almost identical to the ICE version except for the wheels. That being said, the front end has been heavily modified.

The XUV.e8 gets T-shaped LED daytime running lights with an LED light bar that stretches across the front fascia. It has a blanked-off front grille flanked by headlamps positioned in triangular pods. The car also gets copper accents similar to the XUV400.

The XUV.e8 electric SUV is likely to be based on Mahindra’s INFLO platform. It is expected to use an 80 kWh battery pack, powering a single or dual-motor setup. It could pack around 227-345 BHP.

The Mahindra XUV.e8 is expected to go on sale by the end of next year.
