Lexus has come out on top in Consumer Report’s annual reliability rankings. According to the study, Lexus dethroned last year’s winner, Mazda, to become the most reliable car brand. Mazda came in second while Toyota completed the top 3 slots.
The win by Lexus was boosted by the perfect reliability score of 100 awarded to its GX model lineup. Mazda models such as the MX-5 Miata and CX-9 scored 88 and 85 respectively. Toyota’s Prius Prime, Venza and Highlander also secured good scores, however, its Corolla hatchback did bring the average down after securing just 27 out of the total 100 points.
