GWM could launch a D segment SUV and a B segment electric hatchback in the Indian market.
According to a media report, China-based Great Wall Motors is redrawing its India plans and could take the CBU route to bring its products into the country.
The report states that the company is now looking at a relatively smaller investment and instead of targeting the mainstream market, it is evaluating a top-down approach.
It is said that Great Wall is exploring the possibility of introducing a D segment SUV and a B segment electric hatchback. Both cars could be imported as completely built units (CBU) or as completely knocked down kits (CKD).
Great Wall Motors had chalked out big plans for India. However, its entry was delayed due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Border tensions between India and China have also posed hurdles for FDI approvals.
