The BMW iX M60 is claimed to be the brand’s most powerful EV to date.
BMW has unveiled its flagship performance-focused model, the iX M60 electric SUV.
The BMW iX M60 is claimed to be the brand’s most powerful EV to date and the second EV model from the M Performance division after the i4 M50. The electric SUV is said to produce 619 BHP and 1100 Nm in its sportiest setting with launch control. In the standard modes, the iX M60 produces 540 BHP and 1015 Nm. BMW claims the M60 version of its iX SUV is capable of sprinting from 0 – 100 km/h in 3.9 seconds and has a top speed limited to 249 km/h.
BMW claims 575 km of range on a single charge for the iX M60, which is less than that of its iX xDrive 50 variant (offering 611 km).
The M60 comes with an aluminium space frame with a carbon cage along with carbon fibre reinforced plastic on the roof, sides and rear. The electric SUV also comes with M branded brake calipers, larger alloy wheels, M emblems all around finished in gloss black titanium bronze. The interior remain mostly unchanged from the standard iX models, apart from a few M specific updates.
The most significant feature of the M60 is its external colour-changing technology. BMW hasn’t revealed how the new technology works, but the brand did show the changing colour at the 2022 CESS, which happens at the press of a button.
