Paddy McGuinness zooms around in the “ridiculous supercar” Aston Martin Victor. It was created only last year and is a bespoke, one of a kind model. According to Chris Harris, it’s “like no supercar we’ve ever seen before”.
The focus of tonight’s episode is Freddie fulfilling his lifelong dream of becoming a racecar driver, as he samples a G55 GTA.
Freddie said: “I’ve had a fascination with speed ever since I could remember – whether it’s cars or cricket balls, I want them to be fast.
“Rather than saying, ‘Why do you want to drive fast?’ Why would anyone not want to?”
Lexy Needham took to Twitter and said: “Freddie is so right for Top Gear. Competitive, but also just a little kid playing with his dream toys.”
Despite the majority of the programme focussing on Freddie’s pursuit of race car stardom, viewers couldn’t help but fixate on the £4million Aston Martin Victor.
Paddy, who was given the opportunity to drive the car, described it as a “hulking, brooding brute of a machine”.
The “seriously powerful” car, with 836 horse power, is “everything you could possibly want from a supercar”.
Paddy went as far as to say it was “the best looking thing” he had ever laid eyes on.
He added: “Think of the Victor as Aston Martin’s Greatest Hits. This is the ultimate compilation.”
David Ireland, @thenewmatador, stated: “That Aston Martin Victor is simply stunning.”
Jane Wood echoed the sentiment: “Oh my that is beautiful.”
Anna Kennedy OBE, @AnnaKennedy1, said: “I love love love that @astonmartin #Victor on @BBC_TopGear it is now added to my #bucketlist lol whoosh!!!!! #Sunday motivation.”
