David Bilsborough, Business Director at Cheshire Cars in Crewe said his car seems to run “a lot smoother” with higher octane petrol. He said his vehicle “performs better” with 99 Super Unleaded fuel and has urged drivers to try it out.
Mr Bilsborough said his “initial thoughts” was that 99 fuel “is far better” for his vehicle than the new compound.
He said: “You’ve now been used to E10 for about five or six weeks.
“What are we finding with this new E10 fuel? What do you know about it?
“Yes, you can’t buy normal unleaded fuel anymore in the sense of everyday unleaded.
“It’s now E10 which is 10 percent ethanol and other substances.
“Now I find personally in my car I’ve started to switch to 99 Octane fuel which is the Super Unleaded.
“My car does seem to run a lot smoother and performs better with that fuel.
“For me, I may just put another tank of 99 in and see if it continues to run smoother.

“I’ll then go back to E10 fuel and do a comparison.
“But my initial thoughts from my car is the 99 Super is far better for my vehicle.”
Mr Bilsborough has urged drivers to “try” putting some Super Unleaded in their vehicle.
In some petrol stations, Super Unleaded will be the traditional 95 LOctane E5 fuel which used to be standard.
